We are excited to announce the latest addition to the Xuron advisory board, Dr. Andrew W. Gunter, MD, CPE. With his extensive experience as a medical educator and pediatrician, Dr. Gunter is poised to bring invaluable insights and leadership to our team.
His medical journey began at the Medical University of South Carolina, followed by a Pediatrics Residency at Georgetown University Medical Center where he also served as Chief Resident. These roles have shaped his approach to medical practice and education, preparing him for numerous leadership roles throughout his career.
Since July 2023, Dr. Gunter has been the Medical Director at Prisma Health in Greenville, South Carolina, where he has been instrumental in creating a new service line for pediatric patients. This role complements his previous positions, including his time on the Physician Executive Council for Children’s Hospital of Savannah and as an Attending Physician at HCA Healthcare, where he developed key patient safety and care pathways.
Dr. Gunter’s academic contributions are equally impressive. He served as an Assistant Professor at Mercer University School of Medicine, where he was responsible for medical education in outpatient pediatrics and the evaluation of medical student skills through observed structured clinical examinations (OSCE).
At Xuron, Dr. Gunter will leverage his expertise to guide the development of educational content that integrates cutting-edge technology with effective teaching methodologies. His experience in utilizing IT solutions in healthcare, like his work with EPIC and Cerner systems, will be particularly valuable as we enhance our digital platforms for medical education.
We believe Dr. Gunter’s strategic vision and practical knowledge in both clinical and administrative realms will be critical as we aim to revolutionize medical education and training.
